  • July 12th, 2024
    • 8am – 5pm *Start/End Time may vary for Athletes*
  • Single Athlete: $125 + tax/fees
  • Team Option: $1235 + tax/fees

The first part of the showcase will consist of individual workouts for each athlete, depending on the position(s) they are registered for (60-yard dash, infield/outfield throws, pop times, etc.). Bullpen and BP sessions will take place during the second portion.

In addition to participating in the athlete-evaluation portion of the event, analytical data will be gathered through the use of Rapsodo; providing athletes with advance metrics (exit velocity, launch angle, spin rate, etc.) to further understand each athlete’s ability.

Athletic attire must be worn (baseball pants, hat, etc.). Metal cleats are not allowed. Molded cleats, trainers, or tennis shoes are permitted.

Each athlete that attends will receive a Player Profile, that includes all of the information gathered from the athlete-evaluation as well as the data collected from Rapsodo. It will be placed on our website, where all the college programs will have access for viewership. Athletes will also be given the link to their profile, allowing them to send it to whichever program they desire!

Suggested Angles

It can sometimes be a difficult task trying to figure out the right angles in which to film an athlete in order to ensure that the needs for the various viewers are being met in an efficient way. In order to make this process as easy as possible for you, we have provided some suggested angles that athletes could use while they are recording themselves. These angles can help you get an idea of what coaches and scouts are looking for. Please feel free to use them as guidelines while you are completing your video.

Hitting

Side angle

While filming the side hitting angle, you want to ensure that the whole body is in frame at all times. This allows the viewer to see the full mechanics of the hitter.

Behind angle

While filming the behind angle for hitting, make sure that the whole body of the hitter is in frame and make sure that the ball can be seen when it is hit.

Pitching

Side angle

For the side pitching angle, you want to make sure that the whole body is in frame at all times, allowing the viewer to see the full mechanics.

Behind angle

While filming the behind angle for pitching, make sure that the path of the ball can clearly. This helps the viewer see the angle, tail, or break of the ball.

Infield

Mechanics

The first angle for fielding focuses on the mechanics while fielding the ball; approaching, receiving, and delivering the ball. You want to make sure that the camera is tight on the fielder, while making sure that the whole body is visible at all times.

Wide View

The second angle is filmed at a wider view. This again helps the viewer see how the fielder makes the play, while also being able to see the accuracy and sense of velocity given by the fielder. While recording this angle, make sure that the fielder can clearly be seen and then zoom out behind the 1st baseman to see the complete throw.  *This angle can also be filmed behind the fielder if need be*

Outfield

Mechanics

The same concept applies while recording outfielders. Use the tight angle for the viewer to see the full mechanics of the fielder; again, making sure that the whole body is in frame throughout the movement.

Wide View

Similarly, to the infield wide angle, the outfield is the same process; wide angle when the fielder is making the play and zooming out to see the full throw. *Unlike for the infield, we do not recommend recording this angle behind the outfielder*

Catching

Blocking balls

While recording catchers blocking balls in the dirt, make sure that the catcher’s whole body is in frame from start to finish. We also recommend filming the blocking drill from each side of the plate (i.e. outside, middle, in).

Side angle

For catcher throw downs, the first angle is from the side to see the receiving, transfer, and throw of the catcher. Make sure that the whole body is in frame throughout the whole process.

Behind angle

The second angle for catching is filmed behind the catcher to see the accuracy of the throw. If possible, follow the throw down to 2nd base to present a better view of the throw.
